To all genealogists,
We are really pleased to present you the first English version bulletin of Drouin Institute.
This month, the bulletin will be a review of all the updates made on Quebec Records (http://www.quebecrecords.com) this winter and spring development.
Seven sections had updates and modifications. The major update was the LAFRANCE in March, that includes now 2 224 851 acts for the 1621-1849 period and up to 1911 for marriages with links to the original image for most part. A next update will happened in May with more than 200 000 acts linked to Drouin Collection.
10 000 images in 1926-1996 marriages have links corrected. At the end of Spring, a new update for places will be made to optimize searches for marriage locations.
There have been updates in three of the four sections of Obituaries. Here there are :
5500 new death cards
22 000 new newspaper obituaries, some from February 2012.
27 new cemeteries, 12 000 tombstones
We will reach a million Internet
newspaper obituaries next May.
This summer, the Obituary section will reach the 2 million milestone.
The 980 000 BMD records in the Lil'BMD section and 17 000 postcards were also added last winter. Updates will be made this summer for both sections.
As of March 29th, 2012, 36 044 720 images and files were available on Quebec Records.
